Ghanaian forward Antoine Selorm Semenyo has urged his Manchester City teammates to stay calm and focused as they look to close the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The 26-year-old is enjoying a superb start to his career at the Etihad Stadium, having already scored five goals in nine Premier League appearances for the Cityzens.
Arsenal currently sit nine points clear at the top of the table, but Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand and remain firmly in the title hunt.
Speaking ahead of Manchester City’s crucial match against Chelsea tomorrow, Semenyo stressed the importance of composure and readiness.
“We’ve got a good team, we know that. We just have to stay calm and just make sure that once the games come, we’re ready to go,” the Ghanaian said.
“So just a matter of being calm and then ready to go. Just hit the ground running.”
Semenyo’s comments come at a vital stage of the season as City look to build momentum and put pressure back on Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title.
The Ghana international will be hoping to add to his impressive goal tally when City face Chelsea in what promises to be a tough encounter on Sunday, April 11.
