Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has made history after being named Premier League Player of the Month for February following his impressive performances for Manchester City.

The 26-year-old attacker secured the award after an explosive start to life at the Etihad Stadium, having joined the club during the January transfer window from AFC Bournemouth in a £64 million move.

By winning the prize, Semenyo becomes only the third Ghanaian to achieve the feat, following former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah and Andre Ayew, who won the award during his time with Swansea City in 2015.

The recognition also ends an 11-year wait for a Ghanaian player to win the monthly honour in England’s top flight.

Semenyo delivered an outstanding performance throughout February, scoring three goals and providing one assist in five matches, including strikes against Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham FC and Leeds United.

The forward is enjoying a remarkable campaign, having already scored 15 goals and registered four assists in 28 league appearances, making him the Ghanaian with the most goals in a single Premier League season.

He is already on the list of coach Otto Addo for the international friendlies coming up and also the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
