English-born Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo emerged the hero as Manchester City defeated Chelsea 1-0 to win the 2025/26 FA Cup in a thrilling clash at the Wembley Stadium.

The 26-year-old forward scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute with a brilliant backheel finish in what proved to be a tense and highly competitive final.

Both teams remained well organized throughout the encounter and created few clear-cut opportunities, but Semenyo’s moment of brilliance eventually separated the two sides.

The victory secured Manchester City’s eighth FA Cup title and handed Semenyo another major trophy since joining the club from AFC Bournemouth midway through the season.

The 26-year-old has quickly become one of Pep Guardiola’s most important attacking players and has now won both the FA Cup and the EFL Cup since arriving at the Etihad Stadium.

Antoine Semenyo is currently enjoying the best form of his career and is widely regarded as Ghana’s most in-form player at the moment. Across all competitions this season, he has registered an impressive 20 goals and six assists.

His outstanding performances are expected to earn him a key place in Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
