Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo has admitted Ghana face a difficult challenge at the 2026 World Cup, as he reflected on the Black Stars’ group which includes England, Croatia and Panama.

The 26-year-old forward, who has been in outstanding form this season with 18 goals and 6 assists, is expected to play a key role for Ghana national football team at the tournament.

Speaking on the In The Mixer podcast, Semenyo acknowledged the quality of the opposition but remains eager for the challenge.

“It’s going to be tough, but yeah, I’m looking forward to it,” Semenyo said.

He was quick to warn against underestimating Panama, stressing that every game in the group will demand full focus.

“It’s a tough group because you can’t underestimate Panama. You think it’s easy, but it’s not that easy. It will be a tough game; they won’t be a pushover.”

Semenyo also highlighted the strength of England and Croatia, describing them as top sides while outlining Ghana’s main objective.

“Croatia and England are obviously top teams. Trying to get out of the group is what we want essentially, but it’s not going to be easy at all.”

With confidence high from his club performances, Semenyo will be hoping to carry that form onto the world stage as Ghana aim to navigate a challenging group and progress beyond the early rounds.
