Ghanaian legend Andre Ayew capped off a challenging yet impactful season with Le Havre by finishing as the club’s joint-third top scorer, earning widespread praise for his leadership and contributions during a tense relegation battle.

The 35-year-old forward scored four goals in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign, provided one assist, and received two yellow cards. His final goal of the season came in a thrilling 4–3 victory over Lens on March 1, where he struck in the 33rd minute. He had earlier opened his account in a tough 5–1 defeat to Olympique Marseille on January 5.

Ayew joined the French outfit in October 2024 from Premier League side Nottingham Forest and quickly became an integral part of Le Havre’s survival push. He made 27 league appearances—starting 15 matches and coming off the bench 12 times—amassing 1,451 minutes of action. His experience and versatility proved vital as he consistently stepped up in crucial moments.

This season followed a solid debut campaign with Le Havre in 2023/24, during which Ayew registered five goals in 19 league appearances. His move to France came after a stint with Nottingham Forest, where he featured in 13 Premier League matches.

A former Swansea City talisman and a stalwart of the Ghana national team, Ayew’s career has spanned multiple World Cups and Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. At Le Havre, his leadership on and off the pitch was invaluable during a turbulent campaign that culminated in a dramatic final-day escape from relegation.

As the final whistle blew to confirm Le Havre’s Ligue 1 survival following a nail-biting 3–2 win over Strasbourg, Ayew was mobbed by jubilant fans in scenes of raw emotion and gratitude. His unwavering commitment, composure under pressure, and decisive performances throughout the season were lauded by teammates, supporters, and pundits alike.

In a season filled with ups and downs, Andre Ayew emerged as a symbol of resilience and professionalism—proving once again why he remains one of Africa’s most respected football icons.
