Rising Ghanaian music promoter Ananzo has taken to social media to express his joy after finally receiving the much-anticipated $5,000 cash gift from Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, popularly known as OBO.
In a video making rounds online, Ananzo is seen proudly showing off wads of cash — the exact amount Davido promised him months ago in cedi equivalent — after reposting Ananzo’s viral video in which he passionately jammed to the song “With You.”
Davido had initially made the promise on social media, commenting, “5K US FOR YOU,” in response to Ananzo’s enthusiastic video. The moment instantly garnered massive attention and significantly boosted Ananzo’s online profile.
Despite the buzz, weeks turned into months without the funds being transferred. During that period, Ananzo remained optimistic and grateful, noting in interviews that the exposure alone had already opened doors for him in Ghana’s music industry. He stated, “Even if Davido doesn’t give me the $5,000, the exposure alone…”
But in a surprise twist that has thrilled fans, Davido has now honored his promise.
In the circulating video, one of Davido’s associates is seen presenting the full amount to Ananzo, who wasted no time in celebrating the moment.
Clutching the cash and grinning from ear to ear, Ananzo praised Davido as “the one and only OBO,” thanking him for staying true to his word and changing his life in a major way.
