Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo’s daughter, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, is significantly influencing the development of the nation’s creative arts scene. In her capacity as the Creative Arts Agency’s Executive Secretary, she has played a key role in spearheading campaigns to advance Ghana’s cultural identity and strengthen its standing internationally.

The “Creative Art Card,” a ground-breaking program created to expedite the visa application process for Ghanaian artists, is one of her most notable contributions. This card is intended to make foreign travel easier and allow local artists to perform around the world without facing the bureaucratic barriers that have hitherto limited their possibilities overseas.

Apart from her logistical endeavors, Gyankroma is an ardent supporter of creating a distinct and cohesive sound for Ghana’s music industry. She emphasizes how crucial it is to have a unique musical identity that appeals to both domestic and foreign listeners while drawing from the country’s rich cultural legacy.

Her efforts are in line with larger initiatives like the “Play Ghana” project, which aims to raise awareness of Ghanaian music by expanding its exposure on regional radio stations and showcasing the nation’s musical prowess internationally. Her dedication to bolstering the regional creative industry and establishing Ghana as a major force in the international cultural scene is demonstrated by these projects.
