Amber Maame Aba Smith, 13 years old Ghanaian swimmer, has made an electrifying start to life at the Meet 1 of Season 4 of the Ghana Swim League which kicked off at the Aquatic Center in Borteyman on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
Born on December 15, 2011, in California, USA, the young female Ghana Dolphins swimmer looked to have improved at the start of the Ghana Swim League, having made a club switch from Torpedo Swim Club to GH Dolphins.
Amber was introduced to aquatic sports before the age of 3 and has since gone to make her competitive debut in swimming at the Ghana Swim League in Season 1, back in November 2022 at the GAF Sports Complex in Burma Camp, Accra.

Amber Smith, a student of Ghana International School (GIS) in Accra has competed in several regional and national swimming tournaments which includes the Ghana Swim League and Meet of Champions, President’s Cup National Swimming Championships, Channel 1/Citi FM National Swimming Championship, Lincoln School Meets, ISSAG competitions among others.
Besides, Amber, whose favourite stroke is butterfly despite having freestyle as her best stroke, clocked a final time of 38.98 seconds in Girls’ 50m Butterfly heat and finished in first position despite a seeded time of 45.17 seconds.
The young swimmer continues her impressive start in Girls 100m Backstroke, finishing in first place with a final time of 1.47.93 seconds despite with a seeded time of 2.04 seconds.
The multi-talented young swimmer made a final time of 3.17.46 seconds in Girls 200m Freestyle, placing third. Amber Smith went ahead to finish second in Girls 200m Individual Medley (IM). With a seeded time of 3.51.48 seconds, Amber dropped her time to clock 3.43.89 seconds.
Speaking to Ermines Onyema, the official announcer of the Ghana Swim League, Amber Smith says her role model remains Summer Mcintosh. Mcintosh made it to the Olympics as a teenager hence, Amber takes inspiration from the Olympian.
Amber Maame Aba Smith has won a total of 18 medals so far across all competitions she has participated in as she looks to inspire her own siblings, Andre Smith and Alexis Ewura Esi Smith.
Meanwhile, Amber Smith will look to continue her incredible run of form when the swim league bounces back in January 2026 at Meet 3 as she sets her goal to develop into a knowledgeable and skilled individual who can think critically and contribute to society.
