US-based Ghanaian Afro-fusion artiste Ama Ka’rin is setting the stage for a global takeover with the announcement of her upcoming collaboration with Harlem rap icon Jim Jones.

The two recently teamed up in New York, recording late into the night on a track that Ama calls “nothing but history in the making.”

“2AM in New York & we’re still grinding… been in the studio all night making nothing but history. Jim Jones went legendary on this one. I love him so much, he’s fire. Can’t wait for y’all to hear. Plus video on the way,” said Ama Ka’rin.

The collaboration blends Ama’s Afrobeat and hip-hop fusion with Jones’ signature East Coast sound, uniting cultures and genres in a way that speaks to global audiences.

A Breakout Season for Ama Ka’rin

The announcement arrives as Ama celebrates one of her most defining years yet:

Confirmed to perform at Erlendur Fashion Week (Sept 3–7) in Reykjavík, Iceland, showcasing at the prestigious Wales Museum with sustainable fashion brand ModernNatured.

Awarded Afropop/Afrobeats Artiste of the Year (2024) by the Ghana Music Awards USA.

Due to an on-stage mix-up, another artist mistakenly accepted the award, though the correction was later made on Instagram. Ama has yet to physically receive her award to share with her fans.

Nominated for Female Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards USA 2025, spotlighting her international influence.

Nominated for Most Popular Artiste of the Year (2025) at the same awards — though she didn’t take home the trophy, her nomination cemented her as one of the most buzzworthy Ghanaian artists abroad.

Set to release her new Afrobeats single “Refamiliar” on Sept 5, strategically aligned with her Reykjavík Fashion Week appearance.
