Ghanaian-UK event promoter Alordia has announced his decision to formally step away from event promotion following the cancellation of ShattaFest UK.
Alordia made the revelation during an interview on Hitz FM, in a discussion shared on X and sighted by zionfelix.net on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The decision comes weeks after ShattaFest UK, which was held as part of Ghana Party in the Park, was cancelled following a crowd incident at the venue.
Reports at the time indicated that a small fire near an entrance led to the temporary closure of the gates, after which a crowd surge occurred when the gates were reopened.
The incident reportedly resulted in several people receiving medical attention, with some taken to hospital for treatment.
This cancellation subsequently triggered criticism and questions about the organisation, crowd management and ticketing arrangements surrounding the event.
However, Alordia in announcing his decision to step away from event organization made it clear that his plan to leave event promotion is not solely because of what happened at ShattaFest UK.
According to him, the move has been planned for some time as he seeks to transition into another area of his career.
“I am backing out, and I am doing this not because of what happened. This is not a joke. This is a planned thing, and I am stepping into something else. I was a DJ, and I started doing event promotion. Now I have pulled back from DJing, and it’s the same thing I am doing,” he said.
Alordia further explained that his career has gone through different stages, beginning with his work as a DJ before he moved into event promotion. He suggested that he is now ready for another transition and this would take place in less than a year.
Despite announcing his withdrawal from active event promotion, Alordia stressed that his brand will continue to operate and that he would still be willing to support artistes and events when necessary.
