A man posing as a military officer has reportedly been arrested at Kasoa for attempting to sell weapons to police officers.

According to a report by thechronicle.com.gh on December 18, 2025, the alleged fake soldier was arrested by the Special Operations Unit (SOU) at the Police Headquarters on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

The report indicated that the police officers who apprehended the fake soldier acted on intelligence received from their sources regarding his alleged motives.

The suspect, identified as Warrant Officer Class II (WOII) Enock Appiah and based in Kasoa, was said to have been searching for buyers to whom he could sell assault rifles and ammunition.

Acting on the tip-off, SOU personnel tracked WO Appiah to an uncompleted building in the Nurses Quarters, Domeabra-Kasoa, where he resides with his three wives.

During a tactical operation, the officers apprehended him and conducted a search, recovering two pistols, a Beretta and a Taurus, as well as three rounds of AK-47 ammunition.

Authorities also found several military uniforms and a fake military identity card bearing the name Enock Appiah.

The source revealed that police investigations are ongoing to determine how Appiah obtained the uniforms and weapons.
