Officials of the Education Through Sports initiative

The 2025 Education through Sports football tournament will take place at the Adjiringano AtroTurf, Accra from June 19-20, 2025, where footballers will showcase their potential.

The Founder and Head of Mission of the Diaspora African Forum, Dr Erieka Bennett, who has traveled, worked, and lived in Africa for over 45 years, disclosed that individuals who excel in the tournament could be scouted by clubs abroad and offered scholarships.

She also revealed that they are planning to organise similar tournaments for females and other lesser-known sports to educate and promote them.

“We have been able to send some of the boys to the US and other European countries. Our embassy has relationships with others, so we get visas for these boys to play for various clubs abroad. We are also giving scholarships to players in the Bechem United team for now, and as time goes on, it will expand to other club players as well.

“We also have plans to extend to female sports and give women the opportunity to exhibit their talent. We have plans to extend it to athletics and other sports to educate people,” she told GhanaWeb Sports during a press conference on June 18, 2025.
