THE Head Coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, may be feeling the heat after going winless in their last two games of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Gold Stars and Hearts of Oak have been breathing heavily on their necks after amassing points to narrow the gap on the leaders. Beating Asante Kotoko in Kumasi and drawing against Berekum Chelsea in Accra, for instance, shows the intensity of the Phobian chase, a situation that would surely leave Coach Ibrahim Tanko thinking.

Therefore, at the Swedru Stadium tomorrow, Medeama SC would aim at battling to their first win in three matchdays when they play as guests of 14th-placed Swedru All Blacks.

Medeama lead with a three-point margin which could be equaled if they fail to annex the maximum points against a side that has turned their home game into a formidable fortress.

    Salim Adams – Medeama SC

Medeama has not been lucky in their last two games in which they dropped points; the last was a penalty miss against Aduana in the final minutes of their game. Once again, they would rely heavily on their main man, Salim Adams, to dictate the pace. But just as All Blacks proved against Asante Kotoko that they could be a force to reckon with at home, they could cause problems for the league leaders.

The Head Coach of All Blacks, Kassim Ocansey Mingle, has warned that his boys would leave nothing to chance in this clash, which he said they were going for with all guns blazing.

The attention would, however, be on the clash to determine the occupant of second spot to be fought by Bibiani Gold Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Dun’s Park tomorrow. Gold Stars and Hearts of Oak occupy the second and third positions respectively on the table behind leaders, Medeama, with the Phobians trailing them by two goals.

The reverse fixture was one of the nicest games of the season and was described as a game of two halves. Hearts dominated the first half and took a deserved lead, but Gold Stars returned strongly in the second half and managed to pull an equaliser. Tomorrow, they would put up a repeat of that show, but this time it appears Gold Stars would come in as favourite.

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Asante Kotoko will face Vision FC in a very difficult encounter. The Porcupine Warriors bounced back last weekend and are poised to repeat that performance, but once again, the Apostles would pose stiff opposition.

At the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea will welcome Young Apostles in a game of equals, while two-time league champions Aduana FC continue their push for the title when they play as guests of Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf.

Bechem United FC will oblige Karela United to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, just as Basake Holy Stars FC engage Heart of Lions at the AAK II Sports Stadium in Azulewanu, Nzema. Hohoe United will host Samartex FC at Hohoe.
