    Social media users have been reacting to the opulent home of Chairman Wontumi, whose real name is Bernard Antwi Boasiako. Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP), is no stranger to the spotlight, yet criticism of the ostentatiousness of political wealth has been levelled at his lavish home.

    Many people have questioned where the money for such a property came from because of the enormous edifice, which some have compared to a castle. In contrast to the insufficient lighting on public highways, netizens have drawn attention to the property’s abundance of street lights.

    Some have praised the mansion’s architecture, while others have criticised it, linking its lavishness to purported abuse of governmental power.

    Commenters like @kojoankrah1 questioned the presence of such affluence in politics, hinting at the growing discontent toward wealth accumulation among political elites.

    The viral video have fueled debate on social media about public service, transparency, and the ethics surrounding political wealth in Ghana.

    Netizens reacted:

    @nkrumahboateng:

    Feels like one of ’em castle type structures that dictators build only to go waste after their demise. We’ll be here watching

    @bigprince_2:

    @pocket_077:
