Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu will miss the remainder of the 2024/25 season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his left knee.

The unfortunate incident happened on Sunday, November 24, 2024, during his club Stade Rennais’ game against Lille in the French league.

A scan conducted after the game indicated that the player had suffered an ACL injury and would undergo surgery to commence the recuperation process.

The injury forced Seidu to be taken off the match, and Mikayil Faye replaced him. Seidu was taken to the sidelines and was spotted walking with crutches, showing the severity of the injury.

The Black Stars defender has been a pivotal player for the French side, making their defence very solid since joining the club in January 2024.

His exploits for the team helped him win the September Player of the Month award, having played eleven games.

This will be a big blow for the Black Stars as Seidu will miss the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will resume in March 2024.
