Traditional leaders in the Volta Region’s Anlo Kingdom have given Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin an order to remove the MP who yelled, “Daughter a Murderer, Sit Down!” from the House.
A deadline of February 10 has been set by the Anlo heads to identify the perpetrator in their petition to the Speaker of Parliament and MPs who were first suspected of being responsible for the comment but were later found not to be involved.
Their next move, they say, will be determined by the Speaker’s ability or inability to identify the MP.
A male voice was heard yelling, “Daughter of a murderer, sit down!” during Tuesday, February 4, during session of parliament. Killer’s daughter, take a seat!
The event occurred during a speech by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who urged composure in the face of contentious discussions surrounding the 60th anniversary of Joseph Boakye Danquah’s passing.
