Stonebwoy’s manager, Chief Stylz, has alleged that some event organisers have planned to ‘sabotage’ the musician’s album tour in the UK .
In an interview on Hitz FM on February 19, 2025, Chief Stylz revealed that their camp was the first to announce March 8, 2025, as the official date for Stonebwoy‘s tour.
Chief Stylz pointed out that after their public announcement of the tour date, events management group Akwaaba UK, which is currently organising R2Bees’ concert in the UK, set the same date for their 68th Independence Anniversary concert.
“I remember we announced the date of the show in October, and a few days into January, we received a call from our business manager in London. He told us that there were some concerns raised by Akwaaba UK, and they were not happy with a few things. They were planning to put up a show on the same date as Stonebwoy.
“This year’s Independence weekend is a long one, and every Independence Day is also Stonebwoy‘s birthday. Usually, we would be in America, but this time he decided we take it to the UK because, at that time, there was no announcement from anybody to that effect. I am told by people from the meeting that they also planned to organise their event on the same date as Stonebwoy‘s,” he said.
Chief Stylz stated that the ongoing development is casting Stonebwoy in a negative light.
“I think it is just some sort of orchestration for people to put Stonebwoy in a bad light, to make him look like he is the one trying to go against them,” he added.
He also mentioned that these occurencies are putting the two artistes, whose concerts are being planned, in a position where they are being pitted against each other.
“I was thinking that by doing this, they’re essentially trying to pit the two artistes against each other. Stone is very good friends with R2Bees, and Stone and Mugeez are very close. I respect them; they are legends. But when this happens, it makes the fans believe that something is going on between them,” he stated.
The artiste manager also refuted claims that Stonebwoy declined to perform at the 68th Independence Anniversary celebration in the UK, organised by Alordia Promotions and West Coast Entertainment.
“Alordia himself knows very well about the audios circulating… You might have a personal relationship with Stonebwoy and send a request personally to him; he might not see it on time… They didn’t send a request to the management, so why would they say they sent a request? There wasn’t anything like that,” he stated.
