The Kontihene of Akyem Asuom, Nana Boadi Amponim Abobade III, has called for the confiscation of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s presidential chair, which he reportedly carried to most events during his tenure.

According to Nana Boadi, the chair should be taken from the former statesman and placed in a museum to generate revenue for the country, provided it was not purchased with Akufo-Addo’s personal funds.

Nana Boadi likened the chair to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s Golden Stool, emphasizing its significance.

He noted that the chair had been transported in a V8 vehicle and guarded by armed men with AK-47s during Akufo-Addo’s presidency.

In a viral interview on GHOne TV shared on social media, Nana Boadi stated, ” During the inauguration, I realized that former President Akufo-Addo wasn’t comfortable… It wasn’t about relinquishing power, but rather his attachment to the chair.

“If we’re talking about famous chairs, this one comes second only to Otumfuo’s golden stool.”

He continued, “He was very uncomfortable with his chair, I realized that he missed that chair, you know, I would want to ask President Akufo-Addo if he bought that chair with his money. If he didn’t then we will come for it, it will give Ghana a lot of money, and we will put it in the museum. if we are talking about chairs, I think it comes second to Otumfuo’s golden stool.

“A chair that can be flown all over, a chair that will be given a V8 to sit in, armed men with AK47s to guard, that chair is a famous chair so if we put it in the museum, Ghana will have a lot of money. He wasn’t sitting in that chair at the swearing-in ceremony, so I have to say that it was really uncomfortable that he missed the chair.

“I think Ghana is exonerated, Ghana is happy at long last and we can breathe.”

Overall, I think Ghana is happy with Pres. Mahama’s inauguration. At long last, Ghanaians can breathe… – Krontihene of Akyem Asuom, Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III#GHOneNews #EIBNetwork #GHOneTV #NewsAlert pic.twitter.com/6RV8a25LvK
