Wode Maya is a Ghanaian vlogger
Renowned Ghanaian YouTuber, Wode Maya, has shared an experience involving himself and former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during a conference in Germany.
In an interview with Bola Ray, currently making waves on social media, Wode Maya recounted how Akufo-Addo, during his tenure as president, cancelled a scheduled interview with him at the last minute.
“I was paid by the German government to interview all the presidents who were coming to the conference. Our president at the time was President Nana Addo. I was supposed to interview him. So the time they gave me, there was an airport shutdown in Germany.

“I had to go to Austria, then from Austria take a train to Munich. When I finally got there and was ready to start the interview, President Nana Addo, I think, had a busy schedule, so he cancelled the interview. After going through all of that, disappointed, I stepped out of my room,” he said.
Subsequently, Wode Maya said he had to casually approach President John Dramani Mahama for an interview after Akufo-Addo took a raincheck.
According to him, President Mahama, despite his busy schedule that day, honoured his promise and appeared on the show, adding that the interview opened doors to numerous job opportunities.

“Then I saw President Mahama passing by. I chased him. He had a panel, so I chased him and asked if he was busy for an interview. He said, ‘No, I’m so sorry, I have a panel. I’m busy. Can you wait for me? I was in the studio when they called and said someone was looking for me. I came out, and it was President Mahama.
“Because President Nana Addo cancelled, we had to put him on the following day at 9 a.m. And at 9 a.m., President Mahama showed up. I was like, ‘Are you sure he’s the former president?’ He didn’t know what I was even going to do. He didn’t know the questions I was going to ask him. He came and sat on the show,” he added.
