Ghanaian actress and socialite, Rosemond Brown, widely known as Akuapem Poloo, has talked about her big win at the recently held Ghana Movie Awards.

She won the Discovery of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Movie Awards.
Poloo beat Frank Ntiamoah, Matina Dwamena, Sherita Adu, Quesh and Augustina Aboabo to win the award.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with ZionFelix after the event at her residence, Akuapem Poloo expressed her joy for winning an award through acting.

She recalled being defeated by Efia Odo when she was nominated in the Ghana Movie Awards somewhere in 2020.

After she couldn’t win the award following the nomination that year, she thought won’t be able to win any award again.

Having played roles in a couple of movies, Akuapem Poloo had a firm belief that her role in ‘Away Bus’ should have helped her win an award previously but it didn’t come to pass.

However, she was grateful that she had been able to win an award after her role in Juliet Ibrahim’s ‘Widow’s Gift’ movie.

Akuapem Poloo recounted using seven days to shoot her roles in the movie.

She further urged Ghanaians to support Fred Nuamah and the Ghana Movie Awards.
