Agradaa's sentence was reduced from 15 years to 12 months Agradaa’s sentence was reduced from 15 years to 12 months

Richard Asare Baffour, lawyer for televangelist Nana Agradaa (Patricia Asiedua), has stated that she is expected to be released from prison on March 3, 2026, following a recent court ruling.

Speaking in an interview on Starr FM on February 9, 2026, Baffour explained that the Amasaman High Court reduced Agradaa’s original 15-year prison sentence to a 12-month custodial term after finding the initial punishment excessive.

He clarified how the remission system works in Ghana’s correctional framework, noting that a sentence can be divided into portions if the inmate earns remission.

“The earliest time she could come out would be the 3rd of March. That is next month. When you are handed down a prison term, there’s a remission scheme. If you earn it, the term is divided into three. So, the state will take one-third, and she takes two-thirds of it,” he explained.

Meaning Agradaa could be eligible for release after serving just 8 months out of the 12 months.

High Court overlooked aggravating factors in Agradaa’s case – Legal practitioner

Baffour stated that Agradaa has already served about seven months of the new 12-month term calculated from the date of her original conviction in July 2025, making March 3, 2026, the earliest date she can be freed.

“So, by the 3rd of March, she should be out,” the lawyer said.

The lawyer also expressed reservations about the judgment, saying that while the legal team is not entirely satisfied with the final outcome, they identified procedural flaws in her trial and would have pursued further appeal even if the original sentence had been slightly different.

Agradaa was initially convicted in July 2025 on charges including charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence after allegedly operating a money-doubling scheme through her ministry.

The Amasaman High Court upheld the conviction but significantly reduced the length of her custodial sentence earlier in February.
