Former Managing Director of the Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation (GIHOC), Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has lauded the Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, describing him as one of Ghana’s finest political brains.
Speaking in an interview on Asaasepa FM on November 11, 2025, Kofi Jumah praised Afenyo-Markin’s discipline, values, and leadership qualities, noting that his recent actions in Parliament reflect political maturity and principle.
According to Jumah, Afenyo-Markin’s conduct during the vetting of Chief Justice nominee Paul Baffoe-Bonnie demonstrated his integrity and composure as a national leader.

“Afenyo-Markin will go down as one of the best brains we have ever had in our politics. He has demonstrated himself to be a principled person. He behaved like a cultured and civilised leader,” he said.
His remarks come after the Minority Caucus boycotted the vetting of Chief Justice nominee Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.
During the Parliamentary Appointments Committee sitting, Afenyo-Markin, the Ranking Member, announced that the Minority had rejected the nomination of Baffoe-Bonnie and would not participate in the vetting process, citing an ongoing legal challenge to the appointment.
