    Aduana FC, have beaten Berekum Chelsea Fc by 2-0 to win the Maiden edition of GHALCA Regional Minister’s Cup at Nana Agyeman Badu Park at Dormaa Ahenkro.

    The goals came at the 55th and 71st minutes from Ben Dibe and Desmond Obeng respectively to give Aduana Fc a convincing win.

    Aduana Fc for their win, received a trophy for the Maiden edition of the GHALCA Regional Minister’s Cup, with the captain, Alex Boakye, amidst jubilation, proudly lifted the cup sponsored by the Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa. Both Aduana Fc and Berekum Chelsea received medals and cash prizes of GH₵40,000 each as appearance fees.

    The tournament was organised by Ghana Football League Clubs Association (GHALCA) in collaboration with the Bono Regional Coordinating Council and Bono Regional Football Association (BARFA). Earlier the day, BA United had beaten Tano Bofoakwa 2-0 to win the curtain raiser cup for the tournament.

    The Bono Minister’s maiden cup was a football tournament aimed at promoting sports development, unity, and community bonds in the Bono Region.

    The tournament featured top teams, including Aduana FC and Berekum Chelsea, who faced off on December 24, 2025, at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro.

    According to the Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the cup symbolizes discipline, teamwork, and values essential for building strong communities and a progressive region.

    In attendance to grace the occasion were, Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II, Dormaahene and President of Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Dickson Kyere-Duah, Berekum West MP, MCE Dormaa Central Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, His Excellency Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, former Ambassador to Algeria and Board Chair of Bui Power Authority, Dr Charles Anto, BARFA, John Kofi Ansah, Chairman of GHALCA and Vincent Antwi Agyei, MCE Sunyani Municipal as well as Nar-ire, Puobenyere David, Chief Director of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council.

    The GHALCA Regional Minister’s Cup tournament is expected to boost football development in the Bono Region by nurturing talent through the provision of platform for local players to showcase skills and gain exposure, promote unity at the local level to foster community bonds and unity among teams and fans.

    It also encourages participation to incentivize local teams with appearance fees and potential prizes, as well as support local football to raise the profile of football in Bono Region to potentially attract more resources and support.
