Nigerian actor Denola Grey took to Instagram to share some words of inspiration, prompting varying reactions from netizens.
The actor decided to share some poetic words via his Instagram reels about how one should live their lives.
He spoke about the birds and trees, about how he has never seen them take life seriously, yet to him, they seem to be enjoying their existence.
He wrote;
“I don’t think existence wants you to be serious. I have not seen a serious tree. I have not seen a serious bird. I have not seen a serious sunrise. I have not seen a serious starry night. It seems they are all laughing in their own ways, dancing in their own ways. We may not understand it, but there is a subtle feeling that the whole existence is a celebration.”
The message of his post seemed to urge people not to take life too seriously but to enjoy, as he put it, “existence is a celebration”.
The post has garnered mixed reactions online, as while some did take his words seriously, responding in kind with motivational words of their own, others were quick to playfully mock him, not taking his words seriously.
They pointed out he was speaking from a privileged position, not having to worry about basic things like rent and food.
The average person in the country has no choice but to take life seriously due to just how difficult it is to survive, pointing out his flowery words does not reflect reality. Even the birds struggle day to day to find food, or they starve.
