The University of Tennessee in Chattanooga is on lockdown after an active shooter was reported on the college campus.
Students and staff were urged to ‘run, hide or fight’, in an alert issued on Thursday morning while indicating there is a possible active shooter in the library.
The Hamilton County branch of the state Emergency Management & Homeland Security urged people to avoid the campus until further notice, saying it was on lock down.
Chattanooga Police said: ‘CPD is working with UTC Police Department to confirm Shots Fired reports that were called in. At this time, we have not located any victims.’

A picture sent to NewsChannel9 showed a line of students fleeing from the library, a student who took the picture said they were met with officers with guns drawn.
In an update just before 1:45pm, officials said they had yet to find a threat inside the building as they continued their search.
