2025 Enterprise and Employment Fair held in Accra

Participants at the 2025 Enterprise and Employment Fair in Accra have been urged to re-cultivate the resilience needed to thrive in an ever-evolving world of work.

Held on the theme “rising above: building resilience in business and career development,” it brought together young entrepreneurs, students, and business owners for a day of learning, networking, and inspiration.

The event’s speakers included Writing Consultant, Mr Yaw Tenkorang, Chief learning Strategist for Temple Advisory, Mr Robert Benin, and the Pastor of Kingdom Expression Ministries Worldwide, William Burckson.

Mr Yaw Tenkorang challenged participants to move beyond the illusion that job titles or companies can offer lasting security.

“There is no future in any career, the future is in you, ‘‘he said explaining that careers do not guarantee security but people.

He encouraged continuous investment in personal growth which includes reskilling, up -skilling, and embracing career detours.

He debunked the myth of a linear path from education to success, reminding participants that setbacks were part of the journey.

Chief learning strategist for Temple Advisory, Mr Robert Beninn, urged participants to shift from merely building careers to building enterprises starting with themselves.

Drawing from his financial background, Mr Beninn emphasised the importance of taking risk and innovation in today’s digital era.

“If you manage your time, build your brand, and deliver value, you are already practicing entrepreneurship.”

Mr Beninn made a call to embrace a modern entrepreneurial mindset: focus on innovation, measure progress through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), create value, stay adaptable, and build strong networks.

Pastor William Burckson stated that desire alone is not enough and that what matters was the capacity to carry out one’s entrepreneurial skill.

He also mentioned that capacity was built through resilience and illustrated how personal losses can become stepping stones to growth.

Noting that mental illness is the most common disability globally, he stressed the growing need for emotional resilience.

“Resilience is not just about bouncing back. It is about having the perspective and strength to keep building even when life feels unfair,” Pastor Burckson said.

He encouraged participants to view their careers as divine assignments whether in business, civil society, or education and to embrace them with purpose.
