Achimota Senior High School has emerged as the winner of the 2025 Annual Impact Roundtable Discussion and Robotics Competition (AIRTAD 2025), held in Accra on February 25, 2025.

The competition, which featured four teams, Achimota Senior High School, Accra Academy, Yamoransa Lab 3.1 (YM Lab 3.1), and Yamoransa Lab Liberia (YM Lab Liberia), was a key highlight of the two-day AIRTAD 2025 conference.

The event aimed to celebrate and evaluate the progress of the Yamoransa Model Labs Programme, an initiative dedicated to advancing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education across Africa.

At the end of the four-round contest, Achimota Senior High School secured victory with an impressive score of 86 points.

YM Lab Liberia followed closely with 80 points, while YM Lab 3.1 and Accra Academy recorded 78 and 53 points, respectively.

AIRTAD 2025 was organized by Implementers, a non-profit project management organization, in collaboration with the Helping Africa Foundation (HAF).

The conference was themed: “The Yamoransa Model Impact Year: Scaling the Successes of Bridging Educational Gaps with Technology.”

The Yamoransa Model Labs Programme provides solar-powered ICT centers equipped with educational content, multimedia resources, robotics workspaces, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) learning tools, and 3D printing facilities to selected communities.

The initiative is funded by the Helping Africa Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Education in various African countries.

The robotics competition showcased students’ proficiency in coding, engineering, and problem-solving.

Participants also presented innovative projects developed within the Yamoransa Model Labs, demonstrating the impact of technology-driven education in bridging learning gaps.

AIRTAD 2025 reaffirmed the importance of integrating technology into education to empower the next generation of African innovators and problem solvers.

Organizers expressed their commitment to expanding the Yamoransa Model Labs Programme to reach more students and communities across the continent.
