    _History Made: Accra Majestics Ladies Debut in Contact Rugby League 9s_

    October 13th, 2024, will forever be etched in Ghanaian rugby history as Accra Majestics Ladies took the field for their inaugural contact rugby league 9s game. Though they faced stiff competition from Nungua Tigers and Bulls, their courage, resilience, and determination shone brighter than the scoreboard.

    _A Leap of Faith_

    Accra Majestics Ladies embarked on uncharted territory, boldly paving the way for future generations of female rugby league players in Ghana. Their debut marked a significant milestone in the growth of women’s rugby league in West Africa.

    “We’re proud to be pioneers,” said Celestine Sebedzi, Accra Majestics Ladies’ captain. “Our losses today are mere stepping stones to greatness.”

    _Game Day_

    The Majestics faced off against Nungua Tigers in their opening match, displaying remarkable tenacity despite a 16-0 loss. Undaunted, they regrouped and took on Bulls, demonstrating improved cohesion and strategy in a 9-0 loss.

    _Lessons Learned_

    Assistant Coach Moses Agbenu reflected, “Our ladies showed incredible spirit and adaptability. We’ll build on this experience, refining our skills and strategy.”

    Empowering Women Through Rugby

    Accra Majestics Ladies’ groundbreaking effort sparks excitement for women’s rugby league in Ghana. As the sport continues to grow, these trailblazers will inspire others to join the movement.

    “Rugby league empowers women, fostering confidence, teamwork, and discipline,” said Rachel Ankomah, Founder & Coach. “We’re committed to supporting and developing women’s rugby league nationwide.”

    Celebrating Progress

    Accra Majestics Ladies’ historic debut serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and collaboration. Though the scoreboard may not have reflected their efforts, their achievement extends far beyond the pitch.
