The son of well-known person Salifu Amoako, Erald, has been released from the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) after receiving treatment for serious injuries he received in a tragic accident. He was released on October 28, 2024, but according to medical experts, he is still not well enough to be questioned by authorities.

According to the medical report provided by UGMC orthopedic and trauma expert Dr. Fred Salawu, Erald was admitted on October 12, 2024, following an accident that left his right ankle dislocated and his face cut. Due to the severity of his injuries, he needed prompt and comprehensive care from both plastic and orthopedic doctors after being referred from Legon Hospital.

According to the report, Erald briefly lost consciousness when he first arrived. On October 14, surgical operations comprised a flap cover, external fixation of the right ankle, and debridement. The results of the operation verified an open dislocation of the right ankle joint, together with ligament rips and an unstable joint (Gastillo III B). After undergoing split-skin grafting on October 21 to treat his post-traumatic ulcer, he is currently mobility his right leg without carrying any weight.

Dr. Salawu’s assessment highlights that Erald is still unfit for any police interrogation, despite the fact that he has improved and was released to complete his recuperation on an outpatient basis. As his treatment continues, UGMC has promised to keep the appropriate authorities informed of his progress.

    Background on the Accident

The accident involving Erald Salifu Amoako has garnered considerable public attention, especially due to his connection to Salifu Amoako. Erald was reportedly involved in a serious traffic collision that left him with life-threatening injuries. Following the accident, he was rushed to Legon Hospital and subsequently transferred to UGMC for specialized care. His recovery journey has been challenging, marked by multiple surgeries and intensive care.
