Access Bank Ghana introduces faster, digitised ‘Pick Now Pay Later’ product

Access Bank Ghana Plc has officially introduced a fully digitised version of its ‘Pick Now Pay Later’ (PNPL) product, a move designed to make short-term financing faster, easier and more accessible for salaried workers.

The relaunch took place at the bank’s Head Office in Accra on December 11, 2025, and represents a major upgrade from the product’s earlier manual process.

Speaking at the launch, the Head of Distribution, Accra East and Product Capabilities at Access Bank Ghana, Michael Gyabaah, said the revamped PNPL underscores the bank’s commitment to delivering customer-centric financial solutions that respond to real and immediate needs.

According to him, although the manual PNPL had been effective in the past, it could no longer meet the demands of today’s fast-paced digital banking environment.

“People now need speed, clarity and convenience. With this relaunch, approval processes that previously took a day or two now take just minutes,” he said.

The new digital PNPL allows customers whose salaries are paid through Access Bank to complete the entire credit process remotely, from eligibility checks and product selection to vendor confirmation, all via their mobile phones without paperwork or branch visits.

Explaining the simplified customer journey, Gyabaah said the platform enables users to browse partner shops, select products, verify their identity using one-time passwords (OTP), and confirm delivery instantly.

“This product is designed to give customers access to the things they need without the long wait. I encourage those yet to route their salaries through Access Bank to do so to enjoy the facility,” he added.

He further noted that the bank has partnered with a wide range of trusted vendors, including Ashfoam, Get4Less, Electromart, Electroland, Top Records, West Africa Hardware and Decor, Optima Solar and Franco Trading, among others.

These partnerships give customers access to home appliances, electronics, furniture, building materials and other essential items.

Gyabaah stressed that the relaunch goes beyond technology and reflects the bank’s broader social commitment.

“Today’s launch represents progress rooted in empathy and innovation grounded in real life. It is about improving the everyday experience of our customers,” he said.

One of the standout features of the new PNPL is a six-month zero-interest offer, which Gyabaah said is intended to ease financial pressures during and beyond the festive season.

“Whatever you pick, you pay exactly the shop price with no interest for six months,” he noted.

Participants at the launch were taken through a live demonstration of the sign-up and purchase process. Customers are required to provide a Ghana Card or Non-Citizen ID, select their institution, and authenticate transactions via their phones. Once a vendor validates the order and uploads an invoice, customers confirm delivery and the loan is automatically booked on the platform.

Also speaking at the event, the Chief Operating Officer of Access Bank Ghana, Ugochi Okoro, said the new PNPL platform is about more than digital convenience.

“In truth, today is not just about unveiling a platform. It is about honouring the people who rely on us, the workers who show up every day, the families carrying responsibilities that never go away,” she said.

She explained that the enhanced service is designed to support customers at moments when essential purchases cannot be delayed and financial assistance must be quick and stress-free.

Okoro added that the six-month zero-interest offer reflects the bank’s commitment to ethical and transparent banking.

“More transparent, more dependable and more humane,” she said.

She also assured customers of the platform’s security, noting that strong authentication measures have been integrated to protect users from fraud.

“Every feature was designed with one intention, to make life a little easier and give customers the speed they deserve,” she added.
