It appears the controversies surrounding the death, burial, and post-burial matters of the late Ghanaian Highlife musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, are far from over, as fresh details continue to emerge whenever Ghanaians attempt to move on.
This time, the controversy revolves around an earlier statement made by Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu during the burial of the late Highlife legend.
One may recall that during Daddy Lumba’s funeral ceremony, Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, in an interview on UTV, explained why the mortal remains of the singer were not shown to the public.
He claimed that the “Theresa” hitmaker had stated in his will that his mortal remains should not be exposed to the public.

He further added that Daddy Lumba’s children, lawyers, and spouses could attest to his claim.
“As for Kwadwo, anything he does, he makes sure to write a will. So he prepared a will through his lawyers. Even his children and sister have confirmed it,” he said.
However, in a recent development, Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu made a different statement in an interview with Adom FM after court documents surfaced on social media, indicating that the late musician did not file a will before his demise.
Documents sighted by GhanaWeb revealed that no record of a will belonging to Daddy Lumba was found at the Probate and Administration Division of the High Court of Justice in Accra.

Speaking after the document surfaced online, Kofi Owusu stated that he had not made any such claim that the late Daddy Lumba had left a will.
According to him, covering late Daddy Lumba’s face and mortal remains were the dying wishes of the late singer, hence urging Ghanaians to get their facts straight.
“I have never said anywhere that Lumba made a will or not. All I know is that it was his wish that we should cover his face when he is laid in state, and I have done that. Even his lawyers and children can bear witness.”
