The Bono Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DCE, has announced his intention to petition President John Dramani Mahama over alleged threats made against his life.

Speaking on the Friday, October 10, 2025, edition of his Evidence Show on YouTube, Abronye said he would formally remind the President of his constitutional duty to ensure his safety as a citizen, following the alleged threats linked to his program.

“Tonight, I am serving notice to President Mahama, who is in charge of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Chairman of the National Security Council, that the alleged threats of death and elimination on my life, I will officially put it on paper and submit it to him.

“It is President Mahama’s duty to protect my life because this is a threat against me arising from this program,” he stated.

Abronye’s comments follow a series of arrests and legal encounters with state security agencies.
