Edem has strongly condemned the violence that erupted at Ablekuma North

Ghanaian rapper Edem has strongly condemned the violence that erupted during the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun.

Taking to his X handle on July 11, 2025, Edem addressed some pockets of violence including the assault of some journalists and politicians at some polling centres.

According to him, despite such incidents occurring in previous elections under a different government, such should not happen under this current government.

“Two wrongs dont make a right..If you know better , you must do better.. Violence is a NO NO,” he posted.

The rapper’s comments come in the wake of disturbing attacks captured during the July rerun.

One notable incident involved a police officer striking a journalist covering the event.

Additionally, the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s deputy organizer was seen being assaulted, despite police presence.

Also amongst those targeted was former Awutu Senya East MP, Hawa Koomson, who was physically attacked at the Odorkor Methodist Church polling station.

These incidents prompted calls from the public for swift police action against perpetrators.

Meanwhile, despite the pockets of violence, the election went on, ending with National Democratic Congress’s Ewurabena Aubynn winning the seat.
