Finali Limited, the company that owns the Airport Hills residential property in the Greater Accra Region, has confirmed that Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, does not own the said property, which sparked some controversy during his vetting.

This clarification comes after Ablakwa petitioned the company to provide official documentation to the Appointments Committee of Parliament, following claims by the Minority that he owns the property.

In a letter addressed to the Appointments Committee on Monday, February 3, Finali Limited provided details of Ablakwa’s tenancy arrangement.

The company stated that a tenancy agreement was signed on March 1, 2017, between Husni Altheebeh, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and Nuhela Seidu, with Finali Limited granting consent for the arrangement on August 8, 2018.

The letter further confirmed that a renewal agreement was signed on March 1, 2022, and the tenancy is still in effect.

This official statement contradicts claims by the Minority that Ablakwa owns the Airport Hills residence under a different name.

The Minority went ahead and stated that the said property belonged to Ablakwa’s sister.

By making the documents public, the Minister of Foreign Affairs aims to put an end to speculations and prove his transparency.

“The tenancy is still subsisting, and the requisite consent has been granted thereon,” the letter from Finali Limited read, reinforcing that Ablakwa remains a tenant.

With this clarification, Ablakwa has sought to clear any doubts about his property ownership status.
