Ghanaian youngster Abdul Aziz Issah has been nominated for the 2024 Young Player of the Year award.

He is competing for the prize alongside rising talents like Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations star Lamine Camara, Karim Konate of Salzburg, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, and Yakuba Minteh of Brighton and Senegal.

Aziz Issah has also been shortlisted for the CAF Inter-club Player of the Year award, alongside his compatriot and former Dreams FC teammate John Antwi.

The teenager was recognized by CAF as one of the continent’s best young players, finishing as the top scorer in last season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

The skilled forward netted four goals and provided two assists in 10 games, helping Dreams FC reach a historic semi-final in the competition.

He was also a standout performer for Ghana during the 2023 African Games, where the team won gold.

Abdul Aziz Issah has since joined FC Barcelona’s B team at the end of the season, becoming the second Ghanaian to sign for the club this summer, after David Oduro, who joined from Accra Lions last week.
