    Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has sparked debate online after claiming that a woman’s virginity is the most valuable gift she can bring into a marriage.

    In a post shared on his official X (Twitter) account, Omokri advised young people, particularly women, to abstain from sex until marriage.

    According to him, a woman who preserves her virginity does not need to contribute anything else physically to make her relationship stable.

    Omokri further stated that virginity adds value to a marriage on multiple levels, warning young women not to be swayed by peer pressure.

    The post has since generated mixed reactions across social media, with some users agreeing with Omokri’s perspective. In contrast, others have criticized it as outdated, patriarchal, and overly focused on female purity.

    A part of his post read;

    “As long as a woman brings virginity to the table, she does not have to bring anything else physically to that relationship to make it stable. You, as a man, should bring the rest. The best gift your wife can give you is her virginity. Once she enters the marriage, that quality adds value to you physically, spiritually, and emotionally. The connection between you and her will be almost mystical.

    Your friends may laugh at you, but that laughter is without mirth. It is what the Lukumi Yoruba call Erin Ika. You can be like them in one minute. But they can never be like you in one million light-years! “
