Gospel musician Diana Hamilton shared a touching memory and offered her condolences during the funeral of Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan, the mother of renowned gospel singer and television host Empress Gifty Adorye.
In an interview with GhanaWeb on January 18, 2025, Diana Hamilton recalled a fond memory of Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan, where she humorously asked her daughter to spell “entrepreneur.”
“I think she was talking to her daughter, and she was asked to spell entrepreneur, and it’s just the way she pronounced entrepreneur, and she spelt it completely wrong, but it was just so funny,” she said.
Hamilton reflected on the Twi, saying, “Nnipa y3 d3 nanso y3nwe ne nam,” stating, “You can tell that great relationship was built between a mother and a daughter. And this has seen a daughter see her mother off well and beautifully.”
Hamilton expressed her condolences and prayed for the Lord to provide comfort, peace, and purpose to Empress Gifty Adorye in her time of grief.
“My condolences to her. I pray that the Lord will hold her, will give her a message even through this, and grant her purpose in life. May she be consoled and have peace of mind,” she added.
The funeral of Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan was a celebration of life marked by the unity and support of family and friends. Various individuals from all walks of life showed up to pay their last respects to the late musician.
