    The former Board Member of the National Film Authority (NFA) and current President of the Film Crew Association of Ghana has shared his reflections on the recently held National Film Dialogue.

    In a post on his official Facebook page, he emphasised that the dialogue must move beyond conversations and serve as a roadmap for reform within the Ghanaian film industry. He highlighted the need for actionable outcomes in areas such as policy reform, crew welfare, investment, and infrastructure development.

    He further called for urgent attention to issues including the standardisation of crew rates, training and certification, copyright enforcement, and the creation of a sustainable ecosystem for the next generation of Ghanaian film professionals.

    Mr Gyandoh writes;

    I view the National Film Dialogue as more than just another industry event; it is an opportunity to set a clear and decisive agenda for the future of our film industry.

    This dialogue must move beyond rhetoric. It should become a practical roadmap that drives policy reform, ensures crew welfare, attracts investment, and supports infrastructure development. The voices of filmmakers, crew members, and all stakeholders must not only be heard but also translated into actionable outcomes.

    Our industry thrives when we collaborate, listen, and commit to implementation. This platform should be used to tackle long-standing issues such as:

    Training and certification of professionals

    Enforcement of copyright laws

    Building a sustainable ecosystem for the next generation of Ghanaian filmmakers.

    The National Film Dialogue should mark the beginning of real change, not just talk. Let us seize this moment to transform discussions into decisions, and decisions into lasting progress for Ghana’s film industry.
