Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong

Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong has confirmed that French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice have submitted an official bid for his services, with talks currently ongoing between the French club and Swedish outfit IFK Norrkoping.

The 21-year-old centre-back, who has impressed in the Allsvenskan this season, spoke to NT-sporten about the potential move, saying: “All I know is that they have made an offer and that the clubs are discussing. I think it would be a really good step for me.”

Oppong has been a standout performer for Norrkoping, making 13 league appearances and earning praise for his composure, strength, and tactical awareness.

After rising through the ranks of Ghana’s Attram DeVisser Soccer Academy, the talented defender made the move to Sweden in 2023. He spent a brief loan spell with GIF Sundsvall in the Superettan before returning to Norrkoping and securing a spot in the first team.

Norrkoping sporting director Magni Fannberg also confirmed the growing interest in Oppong. “We even saw it after the loan in Sundsvall… it has only gotten bigger during the spring and summer,” he said.

Should the move to Nice be finalized, it would represent a major milestone in Oppong’s career, potentially placing him on one of Europe’s biggest footballing stages.
