Former Black Stars attacker, Kevin-Prince Boateng has disclosed that his wife transformed his life and led him to become a Christian.

According to him, his wife, whose name he did not mention, is a staunch Christian who convinced him to take his faith seriously.

Speaking on the Unscripted podcast, the former Barcelona attacker indicated that his wife persuaded him to attend church services, which he did despite being discouraged by others.

“My wife says, ‘You want to come to church?’ She prayed to God, saying, ‘You want me to help this man, I will help him.’ She never saw me as her husband or anything. She just knew God brought me into her life so she could help me go through all my trauma and everything. Never in my life had I been to church. So many voices told me, ‘Don’t go. Don’t worry about that. Why are you going? Just tell her you’re sick, you can’t come, don’t go.’

“And my wife went by herself because she said, ‘We can’t go in together, we’re not a couple.’ So I was standing in front of the church, looking at these people with Bibles going inside. I was like, ‘What am I doing here, man?’ She did it on purpose because she wanted me to go in there for Christ, not for her. You feel out of place. I put on a turtleneck so they wouldn’t see my tattoos,” he narrated.

Boateng further noted that he felt embarrassed when he first entered the church premises, but as time went on, he adjusted.

The ex-AC Milan forward said he felt the presence of the Spirit and wept, eventually giving his life to Christ.

“I was kind of ashamed of that. She’s like, ‘Oh, it’s your first time?’ It was my first time ever in church. These people had their hands up singing to Jesus. I looked at them and said, ‘What’s wrong with these people?’ After five minutes, I don’t know what happened. I stood up, lifted my hands, and started crying in that church.”

“There was another real man there crying, looking at me. We nodded our heads. I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s okay to cry here.’ I don’t know, the Spirit hit me with so much conviction and I felt so sorry. And that’s the moment where I said, ‘I want to give you my life, man. I want to give you my life,’” he said.
