What began as a personal celebration quickly turned into a day of comfort and hope for many young patients as President John Dramani Mahama chose to spend his 67th birthday with children on admission in Accra. Instead of the usual festivities, the President, alongside his family, walked through the corridors of the LEKMA Hospital and Maamobi Polyclinic carrying gifts, smiles, and words of encouragement.

Children in the wards received assorted items and cash gifts, while their parents shared emotional moments of gratitude. The President also used the opportunity to thank healthcare workers for their tireless service, offering financial support and heartfelt appreciation.

One young girl at LEKMA received more than a birthday visit—President Mahama personally facilitated her referral to UGMC for advanced care. Staff at both facilities praised the gesture, describing it as uplifting and deeply motivating. His presence, they said, turned an ordinary Saturday into a memorable moment for patients and health workers alike.
