In a major announcement that has set the creative industry buzzing, the Chief Executive Officer of Charger Limited, Mr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, has officially declared the company’s full return as headline sponsor for the Upper East Music Awards (UEMA). This announcement was made on November 26, 2025, through his Facebook page, marking a remarkable comeback after the company withdrew its sponsorship a few months ago.

For the past five years, Charger Limited has been at the heart of UEMA’s growth, nurturing the dream of recognizing, celebrating, and elevating musical talent across the Upper East Region. Their sponsorship has not only strengthened the awards scheme but has also helped shape it into one of the most respected and prestigious platforms for emerging and established creatives.

According to the CEO, the company spent the past few months conducting an in-depth review of UEMA’s operations, impact, and future potential. After this careful evaluation, Charger Limited is “delighted” to recommit—this time with even stronger support. The comeback also comes as a special birthday surprise to the event organiser, Kabu Banks, whose vision and relentless dedication continue to drive the awards scheme to new heights.

Mr. Borketey noted that the decision reflects Charger Limited’s renewed confidence in the organiser’s creativity, organizational strength, and the transformative influence of UEMA in shaping the region’s creative industry.

In addition to reinstating the sponsorship, Charger Limited has proposed that the 2026 Awards Night be hosted during the Easter season. This strategic timing is expected to maximize attendance, visibility, and cultural momentum. To ensure the best outcome, the company is urging the organising team to kick-start all preparatory activities immediately—ranging from planning, publicity, partnerships, and all technical processes. This early start will allow the sponsoring team to offer extensive oversight and collaboration, ensuring that the next edition becomes one of the most memorable in the history of the scheme.

Charger Limited reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting young talent, innovation, and groundbreaking initiatives that inspire community growth. With this renewed partnership, fans, stakeholders, and industry players can expect a more vibrant, refined, and impactful edition of UEMA.

    More updates coming soon.

Long live UEMA — Charger Limited.
