The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has officially invited the host of the Aluta Morning Show to assist in investigations following explosive allegations of illegal mining (galamsey) made against three regional ministers during a live broadcast.

This development comes after a formal petition dated 19th November 2025, submitted by three residents of the Ashanti Region Daniel Sasu Omari, Jerry James Suker, and Darren Jackson Pra demanding a full probe into the claims made by Mr. Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah, a leading member of Democracy Hub, who appeared as a guest on the show.

During the broadcast on Aluta Fm on 18th November 2025, Wendell Yeboah alleged that the Ashanti, Western, and Eastern Regional Ministers were directly involved in illegal mining activities. The accusations spread rapidly across social and traditional media, sparking public debate and political tension.

According to the petitioners, the claims were not only damaging but also capable of undermining public confidence and diverting national attention from the ongoing fight against galamsey an area where President Mahama has publicly demonstrated strong commitment.

Although Mr. Yeboah later issued a public apology and retraction admitting that the allegations were “not based on truth or evidence” the petitioners insist that an apology alone cannot resolve the matter. They argue that the severity of the accusations warrants an independent investigation to determine whether the false claims were made with malicious intent.

The petition requested that the CID invite all individuals connected to the broadcast, including the show’s producer and host, to provide clarity, evidence, or context that may support or dismiss the claims made on air.

Following the petition, the CID has extended an invitation to the Aluta Morning Show host to assist in the ongoing inquiry. The move, according to investigators, is part of a standard procedure to review all angles of the incident and ensure transparency.

The petitioners stress that accusing three serving Ministers of State of engaging in illegal mining “cannot be overlooked,” noting that such allegations if left unexamined could damage reputations and weaken national resolve in addressing galamsey.

They expressed confidence that the CID will handle the matter with urgency and thoroughness to safeguard public trust and the integrity of public institutions.
