Nigerian actor Taye Arimoro has issued a legal demand to Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire, seeking a public apology and N100 million in damages over an alleged assault that reportedly occurred on a movie set.

The actor made the allegations public through a lawyer’s letter he shared on his official Instagram account.

According to Arimoro, the incident took place on November 11 after he attempted to leave the production location upon completing his scheduled call time.

He claimed Ovire blocked his car and insisted he remain to film two additional scenes.

The situation allegedly escalated, resulting in him being detained and assaulted by Ovire and members of her team.

In his account, Arimoro accused the actress of violating his constitutional rights to dignity, personal liberty, and freedom of movement.

His lawyers described the alleged treatment as unlawful, inhuman, and degrading, adding that the incident caused emotional distress, psychological trauma, and financial losses.

However, Peggy Ovire has denied the accusations. She reportedly maintains that Arimoro was the aggressor and that he attacked her production manager during the confrontation.

Arimoro’s legal team outlined two demands to be met within seven days.

A public video apology posted on all of Ovire’s social media platforms, including a permanent video on her verified Instagram page, and a Payment of N100 million in damages.

The letter warned that failure to comply would compel Arimoro to pursue legal action to enforce his rights.

As of the time of this report, Peggy Ovire has not issued any public response to the demands.
