Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo has reportedly left the Black Stars camp for personal reasons and will be unavailable for Ghana’s international friendly against South Korea on Tuesday.

Semenyo, who captained the team in Friday’s 2–0 defeat to Japan in the Kirin Challenge Cup, will not feature in the upcoming match after leaving the team’s camp in Seoul.

The departure comes at a time when the Black Stars are managing several key absences, with players like Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus and Alexander Djiku not making the trip for various reasons.

The 25-year-old forward has been a central figure for Ghana in recent years, scoring three goals in 32 appearances for the national team. His leadership in the Kirin Challenge Cup match against Japan was notable, as he led a young and injury-hit squad through a challenging encounter.

Semenyo’s absence will require coach Otto Addo to adjust his attacking options and leadership structure ahead of the friendly against South Korea, which is part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

According to reports, the forward’s focus is expected to shift back to his club duties at Bournemouth, with his future linked to several top European sides, including Liverpool and Manchester City.
