Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka is the Minister of Interior
Minister of Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, has announced the establishment of between 10 and 15 screening centres nationwide for applicants seeking to join Ghana’s security services.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Friday, November 14, the Minister said the screening exercise will run from November 17 to December 15, 2025.
He stressed that each centre would screen not more than 1,000 applicants per day, 500 in the morning session and 500 in the afternoon as part of measures to prevent overcrowding and ensure order.

Mubarak-Muntaka further explained that the various security agencies will conduct their screenings in phases rather than simultaneously.
He noted that the Ghana Police Service will complete its screening exercise before the Ghana National Fire Service, which will then be followed by the Immigration and Prisons Services.
“We do not want a situation where, for instance, the Fire Service will be doing it alongside the Police. To avoid overcrowding, the Security Services will conduct their screening exercises in turns,” he indicated.
Mubarak-Muntaka assured the public that the recruitment process will be transparent and merit-based.
“The process will be free and fair. We are looking for talented and patriotic individuals. If you are qualified, please apply,” he stated.

He added that the screening will include strict assessments, such as checks for drug use, and vowed that only candidates who successfully pass every stage of the vigorous process will proceed to training.
“We will do everything humanly possible to ensure that the right people get into the training,” he noted.
