Human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has accused Senator Ned Nwoko of marrying popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, while she was still a teenager, contradicts the senator’s recent statement that she was 21 at the time of their marriage.

In a post shared on his verified X (Twitter) handle, Sowore alleged that evidence now in the public domain shows that Nwoko entered into marriage with Regina when she was underage, and that the couple travelled abroad soon after she turned 18.
The activist further claimed that Ned Nwoko personally handled Regina’s travel documentation for the trip, citing accounts from those familiar with the matter.

Sowore also accused the Delta North senator of using his wealth and political influence to intimidate critics, including members of his estranged wife’s family, through the Nigeria Police Force.
“Ned Nwoko personally handled her travel documentation for that trip, according to accounts from those familiar with the matter. The same senator, long known for flaunting wealth and influence, has frequently used the now disgraced Nigeria Police Force to intimidate and detain members of his estranged wife’s family and others speaking against his well-documented impunity. This pattern of harassment must stop.“ He wrote
Sowore’s post comes shortly after Ned Nwoko released a statement denying that he married Regina Daniels when she was 17, insisting that she was 21 and had presented her INEC voter’s card to confirm her age.
