Legendary Highlife musician, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has recalled a time when female fans used to spread their cloths on the ground for him to drive over.

In an interview on Okay FM on November 10, 2025, the veteran musician noted that he can mention so many towns in Ghana where women did that for him.

According to him, these women did it because of his hit song “24TH,” which was about people traveling back to their roots for Christmas.

He noted that the song was so popular that many children who had been living abroad for 20 to 30 years returned home.

“Women used to spread their cloths for me to drive over. I can list many towns in Ghana that did that for me. They did it because my song 24th brought their children from abroad back to Ghana.

“Some of these children had been away for 20 to 30 years, and my song was their way of bringing them home, so this was their way of appreciating me. At that time, there was no social media or all that stuff, otherwise I would have trended a lot,” he stated.
