Ghana international Antoine Semenyo missed out on winning the AFC Bournemouth Goal of the Month award for October.

The Black Stars forward, who has been in blistering form in the current campaign, earned a nomination with a stunning strike against Fulham last month.

Semenyo netted a brace in the comeback win, but his first in the 3-1 victory was a sensational solo effort, which saw him take on two players before squeezing the ball past Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Unfortunately, the Ghanaian international fell short to his teammate and Dutch international Justin Kluivert, who eventually emerged as the winner.

The Dutchman’s stunning long-distance strike claimed the majority of supporters’ votes, seeing off competition from Semenyo, Junior Kroupi, and Sophie Quirk.

Picking up the ball in the drizzling rain, Kluivert drove purposefully at the Fulham defence before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner — a moment of brilliance that helped earn a significant victory.

With six goals already this season, Semenyo is just five strikes away from matching his record from last season.

The Ghana international has nine goal contributions for Bournemouth in the current campaign, scoring six and providing three assists across all competitions.
