Presidential Aspirant of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana (PAG), Dr John Kpikpi Presidential Aspirant of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana (PAG), Dr John Kpikpi

The Presidential Aspirant of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana (PAG), Dr John Kpikpi, has set out a vision to transform Ghana’s economy and governance, promising to rebuild the nation through what he described as “five powerful and interconnected transformations” in agriculture, industry, natural resources, infrastructure and ethics.

Speaking to Ghanaians in the United States as part of his outreach tour, Dr Kpikpi said Ghana’s future depends on a decisive shift from dependency to productivity, underpinned by integrity, innovation and inclusion.

“Our nation has the talent, the land, and the will to prosper. What we need now is disciplined leadership and a clear plan to make Ghana work for every citizen,” he stated.

Outlining PAG’s first major pillar, agricultural transformation, Dr Kpikpi pledged that Ghana would achieve self-sufficiency in key sectors such as rice and poultry within three years of a PAG administration.

He said the strategy would drastically reduce imports, create sustainable jobs, and retain wealth within the local economy.

“Our goal is to feed ourselves, employ our people, and keep Ghana’s money in Ghana,” he affirmed.

On industrialisation, Dr Kpikpi said PAG’s agenda would prioritise the local manufacture of essential and high-value goods to build a strong and self-reliant economy. “We cannot continue to import what we can make.

Ghana must build, Ghana must produce,” he stressed, adding that industrial growth would stimulate innovation and create millions of new jobs across sectors.

The PAG leader also outlined plans to reclaim national control over Ghana’s natural resources, arguing that decades of external exploitation had deprived citizens of their rightful share of wealth. “We will invest in our own people to manage our gold, oil, and other natural resources so that the wealth of this land benefits every Ghanaian,” he said.

He added that the party would modernise the country’s infrastructure to serve as the foundation for sustained growth.

This, he explained, would involve improving transportation networks, energy access and digital communication to boost productivity and connectivity.

“No country can progress without a solid infrastructure base. Ours must be modern, efficient, and accessible to all,” he said.

Dr Kpikpi also emphasised ethics and integrity as the cornerstone of his transformation plan.

He said corruption and political dishonesty had eroded public trust and that the Progressive Alliance for Ghana would lead a moral revival to rebuild faith in leadership.

“We will nurture ethical leadership and rebuild public trust in government. This is the foundation of a prosperous Ghana,” he declared.

Addressing political reform, Dr Kpikpi expressed concern about the growing influence of money in politics and called for efforts to reorient citizens toward values-driven participation. He also proposed a more decentralised governance structure to empower local communities and ensure accountability.

“We must move power closer to the people. Governance must not be an elite affair,” he noted.

The PAG leader revealed that the party’s vision would be executed through dedicated task forces, cooperatives, and strategic partnerships designed to ensure transparency and measurable outcomes.

“The five powerful transformations will secure Ghana’s wealth and channel it into healthcare, education, housing, social welfare, and leisure for all the over 34 million Ghanaians,” Dr Kpikpi said.

He concluded by calling for a collective national effort to rebuild Ghana on the foundations of discipline, hard work and shared purpose.

“With unity, integrity, and innovation, we can recreate Ghana into a nation of justice, prosperity, and hope for all,” he said.
